Fuji to Hood is a festival built around the belief that sharing beer, food, and drink can be catalysts for lifelong friendships and better understanding. We believe in person-to-person social interactions as a way to break down barriers and share cultures.
EVENT VENUE: THE REDD ON SALMON
831 SE Salmon St, Portland, OR 97214
The premier Japanese cultural festival in Oregon makes its biennial return to Portland on July 18th 2026!
Fuji to Hood: Japan/Oregon collaboration festival was founded in Portland in 2018 to create cross-cultural bonds and lifelong friendships and takes place every other year in Tokyo. The festival partners 25 breweries and cidermakers from Oregon with 25 from Japan to create original beverages each using atleast one special ingredient from their country. In the past this has created beers made with seaweed, koji, purple potatoes, sansho pepper, kuromoji wood, matcha, yuzu citrus and much much more.
But Fuji to Hood is much more than a drinks festival! We also host Japanese performers from DJ's to traditional dance, Taiko drummers, and Kendo martial arts. A wide range of Japanese food and drinks are featured from sushi and ramen to imported snacks, desserts, baked goods, rolls, ice cream, tea, coffee, and sake and spirits. Throughout it all are local Japanese artists and vendors setting up a pop-up marketplace with goods like woodblock prints, handmade kimono, shirts and dresses, pottery, glassware, even Japanese cutlery!
